Waste can be used to give your wastebasket a makeover.

A small change can make a big difference. In keeping with this idea, I decided to upgrade my wastebasket. I wanted to add a splash of color and a new accent to my room.

If your wastebasket is also in need of a makeover, this is an easy way to do it. You can make your basket look brand new by using colorful newspapers and flyers.

You can complete this project in less than an hour! This is how you do it.

What you need

Old wastebasket

Newspapers, flyers, and advertising mail

Scissors

Super glue or tacky craft glue

Paintbrush

Steps

I chose a multicolor look for my basket because I thought it would go best with my room decor. This is an option, but you can also select a different color scheme. The color you choose will determine the papers, magazines, mail, and flyers that are available.

Craft scissors are the best tool to use for cutting all of the waste paper. You can cut them at any thickness you like. I chose a quarter-inch thickness. Make sure you have enough strips to cover the wastebasket.

Spread some tacky glue or superglue on the wastebasket. Start gluing strips around the bin so that they overlap and completely cover it.

Well, you’re done now! You’re done! Cute. Try it out and tell me what you think.
